Werner Rainer

CEO

Werner Rainer has been working in the field of biomedical engineering and clinical engineering for more than 30 years.

Werner graduated in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Florence and obtained a master’s degree in Clinical Engineering from the Stony Brook University in New York (USA).

He started his career as a Clinical Engineer at the General Hospital in Bolzano (Italy).

He is the founder and former president of the Italian Association of Clinical Engineering and he presided for many years the Health Technology Assessment group of the Italian Ministry of Health. Werner acquired a lot of experience acting as a consultant for the World Bank in the field of Management of Medical Devices.

Since 2000, he is the CEO of the company Biomedical Technology Consulting. From 2006 to 2014, he acted as CEO of Health Robotics Srl, a company founded to address the critical need for efficient and effective production of ready-to-administer IVs and TPNs. During these period, more than 70 automation projects in cancer centers all over the world were implemented.

He is the author of more than 60 scientific papers in the field of Management of Biomedical Equipment. He won the Italian Prize for Mechatronic (2011), the Golden Helix Award (2006) and was finalist of the Young Investigator Award of the International Federation of Biomedical and Biological Engineering (1995).
